FOR PROFESSIONALS

How to Optimize Your Therapy Sessions

The Rainbow Approach

This 2-hour course is designed to support Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) who are just getting started or SLPs who have been practicing for many years and are looking for new inspiration. We will show you how to take your individual therapy sessions to the next level.  We introduce you to the Rainbow Approach which outlines the 7 key elements that should be included in each therapy session.  Videos and therapy activities will be provided to demonstrate how it is possible to improve the therapy that you do with each and every child.  After this presentation, you will be inspired and motivated to continue to do the work that you love!

Strategies for Teachers to Support Children Who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Listening in the Classroom

This 1-hour course is designed for teachers who have students in their classroom who are deaf and hard of hearing.  Teachers will be given the opportunity to understand the challenges these students face both in the classroom and outside the classroom.  Strategies to promote optimal listening for a student who is deaf or hard of hearing in the classroom will be provided.  As a bonus component of this presentation, you will hear from a student’s perspective about a day in the life of a student with hearing loss.

What to do when your therapy session is NOT going well!

The SLP First Aid Kit

This 2-hour masterclass will introduce SLPs to the 3 core domains that we need to consider in all our therapy sessions.  By understanding these core domains, SLPs can recognize what tools they need to use from our signature SLP first aid kit to rescue sessions that are not going well.  You will learn about each domain and the corresponding practical tools that you can use when a student is struggling.  When you complete this masterclass, you will no longer walk away from a session, thinking, “Wow, that did not go well.”  Instead, you will be able to confidently say, “Wow, that session was not going well but I was able to turn it around and look what we accomplished!”
