WHERE WE START

Parents can access a speech and language assessment for their child at any time, and they may be covered by your extended health benefits.  Parents are encouraged to check with their benefit providers. For information relating to fees for service, please feel free to call our office (905) 920-8165.

STEP 1

STEP 2

You will receive a call within 48 hours from our intake coordinator, Melissa. She will guide you through the process and gather all the information needed to connect your child with one of our Speech-Language Pathologists.

STEP 3

Initial assessments are scheduled for 1 hour with a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in person at our Spark Speech office or virtually via ZOOM. Through a play-based diagnostic assessment, your SLP will identify your child’s communication strengths and needs and create a plan to help your child reach their greatest communication potential. At your initial assessment appointment, recommendations will be made, and you will have strategies to begin supporting your child at home.

STEP 4

Follow-up therapy sessions can be provided in-person or virtually and are typically scheduled for 45-minutes.

MAGIC JOHNSON

All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them.
